1. שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּעֲל֑וֹת מִמַּעֲמַקִּ֖ים קְרָאתִ֣יךָ ה׳

   أَيُّهَا الرَّبُّ إِيَّاكَ أَدْعُو مِنَ الأَعْمَاقِ.

   A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths have I called Thee, O LORD.

2. ה׳֮ שִׁמְעָ֢ה בְק֫וֹלִ֥י תִּהְיֶ֣ינָה אׇ֭זְנֶיךָ קַשֻּׁב֑וֹת לְ֝ק֗וֹל תַּחֲנוּנָֽי׃

   فَاسْمَعْ يَا رَبُّ صَوْتِي، وَلْتَكُنْ أُذُنَاكَ مُرْهَفَتَيْنِ إِلَى صَوْتِ تَضَرُّعِي.

   Lord, hearken unto my voice; let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

3. אִם־עֲוֺנ֥וֹת תִּשְׁמׇר־יָ֑הּ ה׳ מִ֣י יַעֲמֹֽד׃

   إِنْ كُنْتَ يَا رَبُّ تَتَرَصَّدُ الآثَامَ، فَمَنْ يَسْتَطِيعُ الْوُقُوفَ فِي مَحْضَرِكَ؟

   If Thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

4. כִּֽי־עִמְּךָ֥ הַסְּלִיחָ֑ה לְ֝מַ֗עַן תִּוָּרֵֽא׃

   وَلأَنَّكَ مَصْدَرُ الْغُفْرَانِ فَإِنَّ جَمِيعَ النَّاسِ يَهَابُونَكَ.

   For with Thee there is forgiveness, that Thou mayest be feared.

5. קִוִּ֣יתִי ה׳ קִוְּתָ֣ה נַפְשִׁ֑י וְֽלִדְבָר֥וֹ הוֹחָֽלְתִּי׃

   انْتَظَرْتُكَ يَا رَبُّ. نَفْسِي تَنْتَظِرُكَ، وَفِي كَلِمَتِكَ رَجَائِي.

   I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in His word do I hope.

6. נַפְשִׁ֥י לַאדֹנָ֑י מִשֹּׁמְרִ֥ים לַ֝בֹּ֗קֶר שֹׁמְרִ֥ים לַבֹּֽקֶר׃

   نَفْسِي تَنْتَظِرُ الرَّبَّ بِلَهْفَةٍ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ لَهْفَةِ الْحُرَّاسِ مُتَرَقِّبِي الصُّبْحِ.

   My soul waiteth for the Lord, more than watchmen for the morning; yea, more than watchmen for the morning.

7. יַחֵ֥ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶל־ה׳ כִּֽי־עִם־ה׳ הַחֶ֑סֶד וְהַרְבֵּ֖ה עִמּ֣וֹ פְדֽוּת׃

   لِيَتَرَجَّ إِسْرَائِيلُ الرَّبَّ، لأَنَّ مِنْهُ الرَّحْمَةَ وَالْفِدَاءَ الْكَثِيرَ.

   O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption.

8. וְ֭הוּא יִפְדֶּ֣ה אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מִ֝כֹּ֗ל עֲוֺנֹתָֽיו׃ {פ}

   وَهُوَ يَفْدِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ جَمِيعِ آثَامِهِ.

   And He will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
